While shopping for jobs over the web, jobs that you can do from home, you want to find out whether the job is going to be something that is an employed situation or whether you’d be paid as a contractor (an independent contractor). A good number of these jobs that you’ll find that you can do from home, work from home jobs, are actually contractor type situations, wherein you’ll be paid a gross amount, typically on a per project basis, and you’re pretty much left to yourself to manage your time and schedule, just as long as you meat critical milestone deadlines about the project. In such a case, you’ll be considered to have a client, as opposed to having a boss. You’re providing a service, sort of like you yourself were a company proper. This is opposed to an employed status, wherein a slew of company sort of infrastructural sort of things will take place, such as an orientation meeting with HR, to introduce an employee handbook.
